The Nine Kanouse Brothers
Perhaps taken around 1870 or so. Writing on the picture indicated that Michael was seated on the left and William was seated on the right, but I don't know if that's right (I would have guessed that the one on the left was one of the oldest). Another copy seems to list the names as (standing) Frederick, John, William, Reuben, Joseph and (sitting) Henry, Moses, Aaron, Michael. It seems more likely, though, that the three with no facial hair are the three youngest, Joseph, Reuben, and Aaron, which does not fit with this labeling.
