Notes for Catharine Snyder

Her name is spelled Cathrine on the Snyder/Soules Ancestry World Tree site, Catharine and Catherine in census records. She is listed as Katharine Snider in the Branch Co., MI, marriage index (http://files.usgwarchives.net/mi/branch/vitals/marriages/dbn/dbn-feb2012-s.txt).

Death notice obtained from David and Wilma Gathright, April 2015 (probably from the Evangelical Messenger, as it is the same sort of format; see the one for her mother, Elizabeth Smith Snyder):

GILBERT.--Departed this life, near East Gilead, Mich., May 14, 1876, Sister Catharine Gilbert (maiden name Sinder, [sic]) aged 23 years, 2 months and 1 day.

Sister G. was a faithful wife, an affectionate mother, and an earnest Christian, and passed away in peace. She leaves a husband, one child, (three having preceded her,) and other relatives to mourn her early departure. Funeral services by the writer, from 2 Cor. v. 1. R. RIEGEL.

[The age must be a typo, as she was listed in the 1850 census, 5 years old. 14 years old in the 1860 census, 24 years old in the 1870 census. The simplest explanation would be that the years got transposed, and should have been 32. In that case, she would have been born on 13 Mar 1844. That doesn't seem to fit too well with the census ages, though.]
