It looks like Ivan (John) came to the U.S. on the ship La Lorraine, departing from Le Havre, France, and arriving at Ellis Island on 13 Apr 1903. A passenger named Johann Dukic is listed, traveling with his sister Karlina (Carolina) (http://www.ellisisland.org). The manifest said that he was going to join his brother Josip in Trinidad, CO. Age of 39 is off a little bit. Place of residence is listed as Kastav.
