Notes for John Irving McDonald

Name in 1870 census looks like John R. McDonald, but other sources have middle name of Irving.

The obituary for John Irving McDonald Jr. (see notes for him) says that his father graduated from Yale in 1878 and that he was “of the R.L. McDonald & Company, wholesale dry goods and manufacturers of men’s furnishings of St. Joseph”.
