Her name was spelled Lavina Catharine Loop in information from Katherine Bushman that James Hotchkiss passed on to me. Her name was spelled Lavinia Catherine in the Loop1 family tree on Ancestry.com (http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/25887631/family/familygroup?fpid=1734367944). The marriage record on Ancestry.com, "Ohio U.S. Compiled Marriage Index 1803-1900", has Lavina C. Loop. It also looks like Lavina in the 1850 census. She is not listed with her family in the 1860 census, so she presumably died between the time Wilbur was born in 1858 and 1860.

Her birth year is pretty uncertain. Some family trees say she was born about 1829, but her age looks like 25 in the 1850 census.
