Dorothy V. Sandidge Kidd, 72, of California died on May 6, 1998.
Born on Jan. 13, 1926 in Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Cecil T. and Nellie Wills Sandidge.
She was the wife of the late Theodore Wilson Kidd, whom she married on Oct. 7, 1943 in Lynchburg, Va. He preceded her in death on Feb. 28, 1993.
She was the mother of Cecil Milton Kidd of Mechanicsville, Michael Wayne Kidd of Leonardtown, Sandra K. Gann of Havelock, N.C., and Pamela K. Fisher of Corpus Christi, Texas.
She was the sister of Thomas Sandidge of Lynchburg, Va., Warren Sandidge of Petersburg, Va., Ronald Sandidge of St. Inigoes, Richard Sandidge of California, Wanda Stone of Hollywood and JoAnne McGuire of Lemont, Ill.
She was also survived by seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Kidd loved to crochet and garden. She won several first-place ribbons on her crocheting from the St. Mary's County Fair.
Prayers were said on May 10 at Mattingly-Gardiner Funeral Home in Leonardtown. Services were held on May 11 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Matthew McDonald officiating. Interment followed in Charles Memorial Gardens in Leonardtown.
Pallbearers were Raymond Gann, Rob Fisher, Steven Sandidge, Richard Sandidge Jr., Ronald Sandidge Jr. and Robert Nunnery.
