Notes for Ephraim Garthwaite

WFT Volume 5 Tree #1179 and WFT Volume 5 Tree #1346 show this Ephraim as being the one married to Jane Anna. Carolyn Gathright and Craig Gathright have Jane Anna married to this Ephraim's son. I have followed them and added an additional Ephraim.

From Craig Gathright (Dallas Gathright family tree):

Active in the Curles Congergation in December 1699, Ephraim pledged 150 pounds of Tobacco to build a Quaker meeting house.

In 1722 a Quaker metting House was constucted near the Garthwrite home in White Oak Swamp.

In 1726 Ephraim was fined 500 lbs of tobacco for refusing to bear arms.
