Notes for Ivan (Janko) Trinajstic

According to Roberto Žigulić, Zvane is the most common nickname for Ivan, but he also sent me a section of a book called Chronicle of the Community of Viškovo 2000-2001, about the Trinajstić family in Viškovo from the mid-1800's to present, and that write-up gives his nickname as Janko. In fact, the section of the book is called Jankotovi, which is apparently how they refer to the family. (His nickname of Janko is also listed in Mate's baptism record and in the most recent Status Animarum book.)

Ivan was born at Saršoni 74 and his children were born at Sv. Matej 26; Žigulić says that those are actually the same address. He thinks that the county (?) of Saršoni was split sometime around 1870 and part of it became Sv. Matej, so that the address Saršoni 74 became Sv. Matej 26. The Chronicle of the Community of Viškovo says that the Jankotovi house was built in 1830 and is one of the oldest houses in the village. Saršoni has an inverted circumflex over the s.

The Genealogy Center of Kastav and Liburnia gives his name as Joannes (Janko) Trinajstich. In the information from Roberto Žigulić, there was some question whether he was born on February 9 or 19. The Genealogy Center lists it as February 9. Also, the Genealogy Center gives his marriage year as 1861, but a Status Animarum page from Roberto Zigulic looks like 1860.
