Notes for Charles Donley

WFT 22 # 1690:
They moved from VA. to Lincoln Co., KY. He settled on the Hanging Fork of the Dick River, about 4 miles from the town of Stanford.

The name is spelled Donly in the Parks manuscript, Hotchkiss manuscript, and Cormode info; Donnelly in the Wanamaker manuscript, WFT 22 # 1690, and WFT 137 # 299; and Donley in the Adair Wilson family record and the DAR database on Ancestry.com. Bob Reeves lists Donly, Donley, and Donnelly in various places. The DAR seems like the most authoritative of these, so I'm going with Donley. Perhaps more importantly, the spelling Donley is well established for Stockton Donley and Donley County, TX.
