Lois Foster

Mrs. Lois Foster, 81, died yesterday. Services will be tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. at N. S. Griggs Pioneer Chapel. Dr. Winfred Moore, pastor of First Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery, Canyon, Texas.

Mrs. Foster, born in Mustang, had lived in Amarillo 52 years. She married Glenn C. Foster in 1931. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Bill Foster of Fort Worth; a daughter, Mrs. Glenna Haywood of Amarillo; a brother, George Gathright of Colorado, three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

A number of sources, including the obituary above, give her place of birth as Mustang, TX. However, some notes by Ila Haralson, obtained on 13 May 2017 from Betty Haralson, say that "Lois Evelyn and George were all born in Denton County Texas about 8 miles southeast of Pilot Point Texas, near Mustang.

The name on her death certificate is Mary Lois Foster. Cause of death listed as arteriosclerotic heart disease. She died at Northwest Texas Hospital.
