Notes for Cordia Jane (Cordie) Shadrick
She was commonly called Cordie, but the later Danny Shadrick Web page and Craig Gathright have her name as Cordia. Her name also looks like Cordia in several censuses and in the Jesse F. Gathright Family Record. On the Shelton Family Tree site (http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/17619820/person/534696624) there is an image of a bible page in which she is listed as Cordia J. Shadrick, so Cordia is probably right.
A number of places show her birth year as 1873, but the most trustworthy ones have 1872, including the above-mentioned Shadrick bible page, the Jesse Gathright Family Record, and the picture of her gravestone on Find A Grave (listing for Cordie Jane Shadrick Gathright).
The name on her death certificate is Mrs. J. F. Gathright (the "F" actually looks more like a "T"). Principal cause of death listed as something I can't read and high blood pressure. She died at home (801 Virginia).
