Minnesota Government Records have been created since Minnesota was a territory. These records were created by the government for the needs of the government --not for future genealogists--but we are glad the records are there!
Counties, cities, townships, school districts and more have created records.
The Minnesota Historical Society has the following records:
Federal Censuses - on microfilm
Naturalization Records
Marriage, Death and Birth Records
Territorial Records from 1849 to 1858
Correctional Records
State Hospital and Tuberculosis Sanatoria
Military Records
Homestead Records
and much more...
Many of these records can be accessed via interlibrary loan. Check out the Minnesota Historical Society webpage for more information Minnesota Historical Society
