He married Martha E. A. Rector daughter of William K. Rector and Margaret B. Goodpasture. She was born 18 Feb 1849 and died in 1889 and is buried at Head of Barren Cemetery, Claiborne County, Tennessee.

Andrew Jackson Widener was living in Claiborne County, Tennessee in 1910 and 1920 with his son-in-law and daughter, James Wiley Day and Mary Catherine"Molly" Widener. He moved to Stephenville, Erath County, Texas along with his daughter Mary Catherine"Molly" Widener and her husband James Wiley Day. One of their children Martha Elizabeth Day who married John Tivis Moody also lived in Erath County, Texas.

This family descends from Rachel Elizabeth Edmondson, the sister of Martha Edmondson who married Elias DeBusk. Several families moved to Texas from Virginia and settled in Brown County, Texas and surrounding counties. William Andrew DeBusk moved from Brown County, Texas to Dublin, Erath County, Texas in 1912. Haven't found out whether the two families knew each other. It is highly likely that they were at least aware of each other.

She married James Wiley Day son of Colbert Day and Ellen Goin 23 Feb 1890 in Claiborne County, Tennessee. He was born 22 May 1870 and died 03 Aug 1952 in Stephenville, Erath County, Texas.
