He was the son of Dr John DeBusk and Sarah Eakin. He was Elias DeBusk's cousin.It is believed that he moved from Virginia with the rest of the DeBusks and settled in Brown County, Texas. He did not marry. He lived with Samuel Dickson DeBusk and Frances Virginia Broocke in the house that was built by Andy DeBusk in 1892. When he died Frances became upset because she could not find two nickles to place over his eyes.
