George J. DeBusk was born 21 Apr 1914 in Otter Tail County, Minnesota  and died 05 Nov 1978 in Itasca County, Minnesota. He married Evelyn Hornsby daughter of Clarence Hornsby and Mary Anderson. She was born 06 Jun 1915 in Jamestown, Stutsman County, North Dakota and died 18 Apr 2005 in Brainerd, Crow Wing County, Minnesota . They are both buried at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Crow Wing County, Minnesota.

Obituary for Evelyn Hornsby DeBusk

Evelyn DeBusk, Brainerd, 89, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2005, at Woodland Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd. Evelyn was born on June 6, 1915, in Jamestown, N.D., to Clarence and Mary (Anderson) Hornby. She married George DeBusk in Brainerd on July 18, 1944. She was a homemaker who enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the St. Andrew's Catholic Church and the Brainerd VFW Post No. 1647 Auxiliary.

Survived by her son, Gene (Wendy) DeBusk, of Brainerd; her daughters, Dolores Maxe, of Brainerd, and Kay (Mark) Ulm, of Nisswa; her sister, Bernice (Earl) Lind, of Brainerd; her brothers, Gene (Rita) Hornby, of Brainerd, James (Elfi) Hornby, of Federal Way, Wash., and Francis (Bernadine) Hornby, of Little Falls; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George in 1978; two sisters; one brother; one grandchild; and one son-in-law, Thomas Maxe.

Services will be Friday, April 22, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. at the Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home in Brainerd. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Brainerd. Friends may call on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday.

Arrangements are with the Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home.
