David Crockett Edmondson, son of James T. Edmondson and Rachel B. Widener was born 30 Mar 1871 in Claiborne County, Tennessee and died 1942 in Clairborne County, Tennessee. He married Mahala S. Lyons, daughter of Frank Lyons and Susan Howtower, on 24 Jun 1886 in Claiborne County, Tennessee.  She was born 27 Dec 1866 in Tennessee and died 04 Aug 1916 in a Flood in Claiborne County, Tennessee. They are both buried Head of Barren Cemetery, Claiborne County, Tennessee.

After the death of his first wife he married Sarah L. Miracle, daughter of William Miracle and Mary Kizner, in 1916. Sarah Miracle was born 01 Apr 1871 Bell County, Kentucky and died 12 Dec 1929 in Claiborne County, Tennessee. She is also buried at Head of Barren, Claiborne County, Tennessee.

After his second wife died he married Cora Ellen Welch, daughter of Andrew Welch and Martha D. McBee, on circa 1930 in Claiborne County, Tennessee. She was born Jul 1891 in Claiborne County, Tennessee.

The Knoxville Sentinel, Saturday August 5, 1916 New Tazewell - "Flood Dead in Claiborne County is 24, 4 Missing.- - -Crockett (Edmondson) is one of the survivors of the Flood. His wife, Three children, and two grand-children were lost in the waters. He was almost miraculously saved after battling with floating debris for more than a mile. One of his daughters and a son came through alive, But were Lacerated and Mangled."

This picture was given to me by Thomas Alexander Edmondson, son of William Porter Edmondson and Jeanne Marie Abadie. He is a descendant of Andrew "River Andy" Edmondson and Susan DeBusk the parents of Martha Edmondson the wife of Elias DeBusk.

1 --- James Clyde Edmondson born Aug 1887 in Claiborne County, Tennessee and died 13 Sep 1969. He married Mary Jane Mountain, daughter of David Campbell Mountain and Alicia Pheba Helms, in 1909 in Claiborne County, Tennessee. Alicia Pheba Helms is the sister of James Patton Helms who married Susan DeBusk. He divorced Mary Jane Mountain and married Gladys Wiley in 1924 in Claiborne County, Tennessee.

2 --- Bessie Mae Edmondson born 23 Oct 1889 in Claiborne County, Tennessee and died 06 Sep 1915 Claiborne County, Tennessee. She married Samuel H. Wiley, son of Robert G. Wylie and Sarah Elizabeth Butler, who was born Nov 1883 in Claiborne County, Tennessee. Both of here daughters were drown in the Flood of 1916.

3 --- Ella Edmondson born 25 Jan 1892 in Claiborne County, Tennessee and died in Jul 1980 in Tennessee. She married Hob Alton

4 --- Floyd Thomas Edmondson born 18 Apr 1894 in Claiborne County, Tennessee and died 13 Feb 1965 in Michigan. He married Nora Spoons in 1916 in Claiborne County, Tennessee. He married Flossie Bell Woods in 1923 in Claiborne County, Tennessee. Flossie Bell Woods was born 02 Jul 1905 in Tennessee in 28 Oct 1934. He married Marie Navarre sometime after 1934. Marie Navarre was born 12 Aug 1913 and died Sep 1984 in Monroe, Monroe County, Michigan.

5 --- Suda Edmondson 26 Dec 1896 in Claiborne County, Tennessee and died Sep 1970 in West Virginia. She married Warren Williamson, son of Marshall and Nola E. Williamson. Warren Williamson was born in Jun 1896 in Claiborne County, Tennessee.

6 --- Viola C. Edmondson born Sep 1898 in Claiborne County, Tennessee. She married a man named Sanders.

7 --- Porter Edmondson born 24 Jul 1901 in Claiborne County, Tennessee and died 23 Mar 1959. He married Dossie M. Smith in 1922 in Claiborne County, Tennessee. Dossie Smith was born 28 Apr 1903 and died 08 Jan 1939 in Tennessee. They are both buried in Thompson Chapel Cemetery, Claiborne County, Tennessee. He later married a woman named Margaret who was born 19 Jan 1925 and died 24 Apr 1968.

8 --- Bunton Edmondson born 27 Oct 1904 in Claiborne County, Tennessee and died 03 Aug 1916 in Claiborne County, Tennessee in a Flood. He is buried at Head of Barren, Claiborne County, Tennessee

9 --- Hubert Edmondson born 23 Oct 1906 in Claiborne County, Tennessee and died 03 Aug 1916 in Claiborne County, Tennessee in a Flood.

From The Knoxville Sentinel, Saturday August 5, 1916, New Tazewell: "Crockett Edmondson's seventeen year old daughter, Viola, and her brother fought their way to the creek bank grasping drift as the lightning flashes lighted up the heavens. As she finally gained the bank and turned loose of her brother for a second to pull out of the water by a tree the little fellow sobbed "I can't go farther, VI, my leg is broke". With these words he sank into the water and was swept on out of sight and hearing. That was Hugh - - -" He is buried at Head of Barren, Claiborne County, Tennessee.
