William George Trenfield
On March 18, 2004, William George
Trenfield
(Bill) died in Harlingen. Born on
May 9,
1924, in Follett, Texas, he lived
in the
Lower Rio Grande Valley in Texas
for the
past 21 years. Before retiring there,
he
lived for 20 years in Muncie, Ind.,
where
he was a professor of Secondary
Education
at Ball State University.
He earned his doctorate at Texas
Tech University
in Lubbock, where he lived for eight
years.
He was raised on a ranch in the
northern
Texas Panhandle near Follett. He
was preceded
in death by his wife of 49 years,
Zada Lee
Trenfield (Debusk). He is survived
by all
five of his children - Gail Joyner
of Missoula,
Mont., Kathy Raines and Doug Trenfield
of
Brownsville, Sandra Mink of Harlingen,
and
Susan Burk of North Vernon, Ind.
He is also survived by three of
his siblings
- Charles Trenfield of Tulsa, Okla.,
Frances
Owens of Grapevine, and Virginia
Brigham
of Lubbock. And he is survived by
nine grandchildren.
His family will have a private ceremony
on
March 21. In lieu of flowers, please
send
donations to either Planned Parenthood
of
the Rio Grande Valley or to the
Audubon Society.
