Obituary Edinburg, Texas
Vivian Louise DeBusk, 94 passed
away Dec. 5, 2002 at McAllen Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her
husband, John J. DeBusk and by her first husband, Dale VanHorn; four
brothers, Stanley, Norris, Conrad and Milton; three infant sisters and
by her parents, Otto and Jessie Peterson all of Minden, Nebraska.
She was born near Minden, Nebraska on December 18, 1907 and later
lived in Lincoln, Nebraska, where she graduated from high school and
commercial college and came to the Valley in 1947.
She was a
member of the First Lutheran Church of Edinburg and had also served as
a council member. She was a charter member of the local chapter of
American Association of Retired Persons.
She was employed as
Deputy in the County Clerk's Office of Hildalgo County for 20 years
and served as clerk for the Commissioners Court, she later retired in
1975.
She is survived by a step-son, John J. DeBusk Jr. and his
wife Katheryn of Mt. Vernon, Texas; one sister-in-law, Patrica
Peterson of Minden, Nebraska; by a niece Mary L. Peterson of
Alexandria, Virginia and a nephew, Michael R. Peterson of Minden,
Nebraska; a great-niece and other family members.
Funeral
services will be held at 1 p.m. today, Dec. 7, 2002, at Skinner-Silva
Funeral Home Chapel on West Samano in Edinburg, with Pastor James
Wilken officiating. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens
Cemetery in McAllen.
