Obituary
Gene Van Huss, 81, of Midland passed
away on Friday, August 14, 2009 at Midland Memorial Hospice.
Gene was born on July 25, 1928 in Brownwood to James and Viola Houser
Van Huss. He married his wife of 61 years, Anella Wilson Van Huss, on
April 17, 1948 in Brownwood.
Gene was a veteran of the US Army
who served in Korea and he retired as an Inspector for the Texas
Highway Department. He was a 53-year member of the Westside Church of
Christ where he served as a Deacon for several years. He loved singing
in church. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather
who loved spending time with his grandchildren. He liked to stay busy,
enjoyed fishing and had a great sense of humor.
Gene his
survived by his wife, Anella Van Huss of Midland, his son, Robert Lynn
Van Huss of Midland. his sister, Margie Dodd of Waco, his grandson,
Brandon Van Huss of Dayton, Washington, his granddaughter, Dee Van
Huss of San Antonio, his granddaughter, Kayla Medrano of Midland and
numerous nieces and nephews.
Gene is preceded by his parents,
James and Viola Van Huss.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday,
August 18, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Nalley-Pickle and Welch Chapel with
Mike Vesta officiating.
