He married Saphronia Catherine "Dolly" Widener daughter of William Ryburn Widener and Elizabeth "Betty" Widener 16 Jan 1892 in Washington County, Virginia. She was born 09 Aug 1873 in Washington County, Virginia and died 18 Dec 1946 in Pearson, Cleburne County, Arkansas. They are both buried at Pearson Cemetery, Pearson, Cleburne County, Arkansas.

He went back to Washington County, Virginia to marry "Aunt Dolly". He remained in Virginia until about November 1895. He then moved his family to Tennessee where he lived for a time in Dickson County, Tennesse. In 1901 he moved to Arkansas in a two-horse wagon with all he could carry. He and his wife and 4 children spent 30 days on the road getting to Arkansas. They traveled with his brother Ira and his family. The information was supplied by Viola DeBusk Todd in 1969. Thomas is listed in the 1870 Washington County, Virginia census as the 2 year old son of Christoper and Liddi DeBusk. He was married  16 January 1892 in Washington County, Virginia.
