Rebecca "Beck" Caroline DeBusk daughter of John Wesley DeBusk and Eunice Rouse was born 25 Jul 1876 in Rose Hill, Lee County, Virginia and died 12 Jan 1966 in Holton, Jackson County, Kansas. She married Everett Emmet Rouse son of Michael W. Rouse and Sarah Griever 24 Feb 1898 in Rose Hill, Lee County, Virginia. He was born 31 Jul 1877 in Rose Hill, Lee County, Virginia and died 29 Oct 1956 in Soldier, Jackson County, Kansas.  They are both buried at Holton, Jackson County, Kansas.   

Obituary

Rebecca, daughter of John and Eunice DeBusk, was born 25 July 1876 in Lee County, Virginia. She passed away 12 January 1966.

She was married to Emmett Rouse 14 February 1898. They established their home in Lee County, Virginia on a farm until they moved to Kansas in 1903. Since then she has lived in Brown, Nemaha, and Jackson Counties.

They are parents of six children. She is survived by three sons, Hobart Rouse, Holton; Sam Rouse, Circleville, John Rouse, El Dorado Springs, Missouri and two daughters, Grace Rouse and Hazel Rouse of the home; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Rouse, who passed away 29 October 1956 and an infant daughter, Bonnie.

A memorial service was held at the Mercer Funeral Home on 15 January 1965 at 1 pm with Reverand Morris Basll officiating. Interment was in Holton Cemetery.

1   ---   Hobert Lee Rouse born 08 Feb 1985 in Rose Hill, Lee County, Virginia and died 08 Feb 1985 in Rossville Valley Manor, Shawnee County, Kansas.  He married Mabellee Nora Griffiths daughter of Robert Newton Griffiths and Dona Alice Johnson 07 Jun 1925 in Topeka, Shawnee County, Kansas. She was born 09 Sep 1906 in Shawnee, Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma and died 02 Aug 1974 in Topeka, Shawnee County, Kansas. They are both buried at Valencia Cemetery West of Topeka, Shawnee County, Kansas.

2   ---   Samuel Everett Rouse born 06 Aug 1900 in Rose Hill, Lee County, Virginia and died  13 Dec 1986 in Circleville, Jackson County, Kansas. He is buried at Circleville Cemetery, Jackson County, Kansas.

3   ---   Grace Alice Rouse born 19 Sep 1905 in Rose Hill, Lee County, Virginia and died 18 May 1966 in Holton, Jackson County, Kansas. She was buried at Holton Cemetery, Jackson County, Kansas.

4   ---   Hazel Rouse born 25 May 1908 in Rose Hill, Lee County, Virginia.

5   ---   John Rouse married Olive Withsell 22 Sep 1936 in Circleville, Jackson County, Kansas. After their marriage they moved to El Dorado Springs and farmed until they retired. Then they moved into the Forest Grove Manor 800 N Main Apartment 31, El Dorado Springs, Missouri 64744.

6   ---   Bonnie Rouse died at 5 months of age in Rose Hill, Lee County, Virginia.
