Obituary for Walter Lee Hill, the son of Julia Malissie DeBusk and Kenneth Lenora Hill
He was born on March 10, 1936, at Big Springs, Texas, the son of Joe Cunningham and Julia DeBusk Cunningham. On January 29, 1968, he was married to Barbara Bracken. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Brittney Fagan; his parents; and four siblings, Corene Chambers, Jene Boyles, Raymond Hill and Johnny Lee Hill.

Walter loved to serve the Lord and was extremely mission minded; he was blessed to have had the opportunity to work on foreign mission fields. He was a member of the Community Bible Baptist Church and attended Glenwood First Church of the Nazarene for many years. A Mason, he had dual membership in the Black Spring Masonic Lodge #543 and the Glenwood Masonic Lodge #662. Walter had retired as fire chief with the Caddo Gap Volunteer Fire Department and as a volunteer with the Glenwood Volunteer Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Barbara Hill of Glenwood; three children and their spouses, Tony and Terrie Hill of Glenwood, Cissy and Steve Morgan of Jonesboro and Gwen and Leonard Keenom of Hopper; his grandchildren, Kori and Lucinda Morphew, Dalton and Cody Hill, Jared Keenom and Casey Brandon and Amber Morgan; five siblings and their spouses, George and Mary Hill of Texico, New Mexico, Kenneth and Mary Lou Hill of Mulvane, Kansas, David and Linda Hill of Callahan, Florida, Margaret and Bill Burchfield of Sumner, Washington and Marilyn and David Stix of Fernley, Nevada; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, April 15, 2009, in the Glenwood First Church of the Nazarene with Bro. J. B. Evans, Bro. Gene Graves and Bro. Wally Beckman officiating.

Visitation will be Tuesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Interment will be in the Mountain Home Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.

Pallbearers will be Leonard Keenom, Steve Morgan, Kelly Hill, Tony Morphew, Carroll Ray Grant and Chuck Voan.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bob and Margaret McElhannon, Roy and Priscilla Owens and Al Vaughn.
