Christopher Houston DeBusk son of Elijah DeBusk and Sarah Catherine Ball married Nettie Brown Acrey daughter of Wylie Allen Acree and Sarah Jane Brown on 17 Feb 1897 in Bronte, Coke County, Texas. Christopher was born 9 October 1874 in Collin County, Texas and died 05 Oct 1936 at Idalou, Lubbock County, Texas. He was originally buried in  the Cross Cut Cemetery, Brown County, Texas. In 1962 his remains were moved to Idalou, Lubbock County, Texas. Nettie Brown Acrey was born 20 Sep 1879 in Banks County, Georgia and died 23 Mar 1973 in Lubbock County, Texas. She was originally buried in Arcey Cemetery in Brown County, Texas but, was later moved to Idalou, Lubbock County, Texas.

Christopher Houston DeBusk moved to Idalou, Lubbock County, Texas circa 1923 with his brother Elias Clinton DeBusk.

Nettie Brown Acrey's father moved to a farm near Brownwood, Brown County, Texas when she was three years old. The farm was located a mile north and a mile west of where the road from Brownwood to Cross Plains crosses the Jim Ned Creek. She and Christopher "Tip" met at a Christmas party in 1895. They built one of the first log houses on Jim Ned Creek. Around 1923 they moved to Idalou, Lubbock County, Texas in 1924. She was raised a baptist but, joined the Methodist Church the next Sunday after moving to Idalou. She painted 120 pictures that were hung all over the country.
