Edington, 83, of Burkett, died Tuesday, May 11, 2010. Funeral services
will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 13, 2010 at Stevens Funeral Home
Chapel. Burial will follow in the Burkett Cemetery, under the
direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
Juanita Gail Chambers
Edington was born February 5, 1922 in Burkett, the daughter of Walter
R. Chambers and Lela Murriel DeBusk Chambers. She grew up in Burkett
and graduated from Burkett High School in 1938.
She married
Charlie Howard Edington on July 16, 1938 in Brownwood. He preceded her
in death on October 27, 2007. She was a life-long resident of Burkett,
a wonderful homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother and was a
member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Coleman Survivor include
one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy Valeta and Jimmy Brown of Cross
Plains; one brother and sister-in-law, Harold Glen and Billie Chambers
of Bedford; two sisters, Aleta Coleman of Brownwood, Olene Johnson of
Goldthwaite; one daughter- in-law, Linda Edington of Burkett; four
grandchildren, Chris Brown and family of Southlake, Jody Brown and
family of Plano, Howard Edington and family of Burkett, Toni Hart and
family of Eastland; eight great-grandchildren, one great-great
grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Family visitation
will be from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at
Stevens Funeral Home.

CHARLIE HOWARD EDINGTON, age 88, of Burkett,
died Saturday, October 27, 2007 at Holiday Hill Nursing Home. Funeral
service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 29 in Stevens Funeral
Home Chapel with Rev. Kermit Sorrells officiating and assisted by Rev.
Dianne Cree. Burial will follow in the Burkett Cemetery under the
direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
Charlie Howard Edington was
born July 27, 1919, in Brown County, Texas, a son of the late Luke
Vaughn Edington and Rosie Lee Slate Edington. He grew up in Brown
County, attended school at Kidd Peak and graduated from Cross Cut. On
July 16, 1938 he married Juanita Gail Chambers in Brownwood. Mr.
Edington ranched for 60 years in Coleman and Brown Counties. For many
years he was a member of Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers. He was
a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Coleman.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita Edington of Burkett; one daughter
and son-in-law, Valeta and Jimmy Brown of Cross Plains; four
grandchildren, Chris Brown and wife Tiffany of Denton, Jody Brown of
Cleburne, Howard Edington and wife Debbie of Burkett, Toni Hart and
husband Truet of Eastland; 8 great-grandchildren; one sister, Lela
Murriel Lawlis of Coleman.
He was preceded in death by one
brother and five sisters; his son, Scott Howard Edington in 2005.
Memorials may be made to any local volunteer fire department.
Family visitation will be held Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00
p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home.

Edington was born 15 Jun 1939 in Coleman County, Texas and died 10 Jul
2005 in Coleman County, Texas. He married Lynda Kay Tyler daughter of
Oscar Tyler and Jolly Faye Stephens 01 Aug 1959 in Cross Plains,
Callahan County, Texas. She was born 26 Nov 1940. He is buried at
Burkett Cemetery, Coleman County, Texas
