 Bernice Louise Nelson daughter of Raymond Edward Nelson and Fannie Bell DeBusk was born born 09 May 1915 in  Netawaka, Brown County, Kansas and died 24 Nov 2009 in Horton, Brown County, Kansas. She married Glad H. "Mike" Dachenhausen son of August William Dachenhausen and Lucy Hunter 09 Apr 1937 in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri. He was born 16 Jun 1910 in Denison, Jackson County, Kansas and died 05 Dec 2002 in Horton, Brown County, Kansas. They are both buried at Holton Cemetery, Jackson County, Kansas.

Obituary

Bernice Dachenhausen, 94, Horton, died Nov. 24, 2009, at a Horton hospital after a brief illness. She was born May 9, 1915, the daughter of Fanny DeBusk and Raymond Nelson of Netawaka. The family later moved to Morrill, where she graduated from high school in 1932. Mrs. Dachenhausen worked for Duckwall's for more than 25 years, retiring in 1982. She also held a paper route for the Kansas City Star and Times in earlier years. She had previously lived in Holton and Kansas City before moving to Horton in 1946. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church, was active in Methodist ladies organizations and was a longtime treasurer of the Church Memorial Fund. She also was a member of Chapter EE PEO. She married Glade "Mike" Dachenhausen in 1937. He died in 2002. She also was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Charles Nelson, Delmar Nelson and Ray Nelson Jr.; and two sisters, Maxine Smith and Carolee Alexander. Survivors include a son, Dean Dachenhausen, Kansas City, Mo.; and 10 nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Nov. 28 at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Horton, with Pastor Alice Purvis of the Methodist Church of Horton officiating. Interment was in Holton Cemetery.
