1. Daniel ZITTLE. According to "Thirty Thousand Names of German and Swiss Immigrants" compiled by Daniel Rupp, Daniel Zittel arrived abourd Ship Sally; John Osmond, master, from Rotterdam, last from Cowes, October 31, 1774. He is said to have had his 3 young sons aboard: Michael, Daniel, and Conrad.

1.2 Daniel ZITTLE. Born 25 Jul 1773. Died 28 Mar 1855. He was a shoemaker in Lampeter Square, W. Lampeter Twp, Lancaster Co., PA. Buried in Lampeter Reformed Mennonite Cemetery.

He married Esther ERB, daughter of Messach ERB & Rachel, 7 Mar 1796. Born 24 Jun 1777. Died 21 Dec 1857 in Lampeter, Lancaster Co, PA. Buried in Lampeter Reformed Mennonite Cemetery.

A corner cupboard and clock once belonging to Daniel Zittle are on display at The Heritage Museum of Lancaster, PA. The clock, made by John Hoff, was delivered August 19, 1812. It later went to Cyrus Zittle and eventually to Dr. J. Henry Musser who donated it to the museum. The cupboard includes moulding from the house. The cupboard was obviously older than the clock because sides of the cabinet where the clock sits had to be scraped out in order to accomodate the pendulum.
