Mr. Joseph L. Mullen



  Mr. Joseph L. Mullen, 86, Thurmont, died Monday, Jan. 22, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. His wife, Nellie Shuff Mullen passed away ten years ago. Born in Washington, D.C. he was the son of the late Bernard and Julia Kane Mullen.

  He worked for the state sanitorium for 25 years as an electrical engineer. He was a World War I veteran and a member of the C. Creager American Legion and the Waynesboro Legion for 50 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Thurmont, and the Holy Name Society.

  Surviving are one stepson, Harold Law, Blue Ridge Summitt, Pa., nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, three nephews.

  Friends may call at the Creager Funeral Home, Thurmont, Requiem Mass will be held Wednesday, Jan. 24, at 10 a.m. The Rev. Fr. Thomas Caulfield will officiate. Interment will be in the Blue Ridge Cemetery, Thurmont.

NOTE: Joseph married Nellie Shuff Law and was Harold D. Law's stepfather.
