Laura V. Lowman



 Laura V. Lowman, 72, of East Franklin Street, Hagerstown, died Friday, March 17, at the Washington County Hospital.

 Born in Leitersburg, she was the daughter of the late John and Rosa Kindle Law.

 Her first husband, Robert L. West, died in 1964.

She was a member of Emmanuel Chapel near Smithsburg.

 She is survived by her second husband, John H. Lowman; two daughters, Catherine L. Winfield of Smithsburg and Wilma L. Mills of Hagerstown; one son, Richard W. West of Greensburg, Md.; three sisters, Gladys Sanbower and Charlotte Collins, both of Smithsburg and Bertha Clever of Greencastle, Pa.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

 Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Emmanuel Chapel. The Rev. Jonathan D. Laye will officiate. Burial will be in Ringgold Cemetery.

 The family will receive friends at the Davis Funeral Home in Smithsburg Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Lowman, 72, of East Franklin Street, Hagerstown, who died Friday, March 17, is also survived by five stepdaughters, Peggy Corsi, Janet Harris, Shelby Bowman, Sonia Moser and Penelope Marks, all of Hagerstown; four stepsons, John Lowman Jr., James Lowman, William Lowman and Ronald Lowman, all of Hagerstown; 16 step grandchildren; and 17 step great grandchildren.
