Death Calls Jerome Fitz



  Jerome C. Fitz, a retired farmer and a well known citizen of Washington township nearly all of his life, died this forenoon at 11 o'clock of a complication of ailments, aged 76 years, 8 months and 9 days. He had been in failing health for over a year and bedfast for the last nine weeks at the home of his son, John W. Fitz, of the Amsterdam neighborhood where he had been living for several years.

  Mr. Fitz is survived by five sons and one daughter: A. Stover Fitz, Miss Nellie Fitz, Abram H. and Bruce D. Fitz, Waynesboro; John W., near Amsterdam, and B. Frank Fitz, Rouzerville; brother, Frank Fitz, and sisters, Mrs. Thomas Hollingsworth, Waynesboro; Mrs. Eliza Dunn, Williamsport, Md., and Miss Elizabeth Fitz, Chambersburg; also 31 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

  The deceased was the son of Peter and Eliza (Howard) Fitz and was born near St. Thomas, this county. the family moving to this locality many years ago.

  The funeral service will be held at the house Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock, Rev. C. W. DeChant in charge, and burial in the graveyard at Ringgold. By request flowers are to be omitted.
