Vanished Site Data

Site Name:

Piranha Alley

Site Location:

Burdick Mall

Date Vanished:

December 30, 2003

Site Information:

Piranha Alley opened in April 1989 in an alley off the Burdick Mall.  It became a Mecca of skate function and fashion.  In 1997 the storefront moved to the main mall.  The expansion allowed the inclusion of snowboards and many new brands of gear as well as scads of videos, amenities, gimmicks, doodads, fandangle, gewgaws, and gimcracks.  Run by real skaters, Piranha Alley was genuine and fun.  It is survived by the Pro Shop at the K-Zoo Skate Zoo at 1502 Ravine Road.
