The whole family on my mother's side went to St. Francis Xavier for many years. My cousin was an Altar Boy there. My family names are Harbart. It is possible that my uncle, Osborne Genaw, was buried there also in the 50's. My mother went to St.Francis school, I believe, in or around 1918.
My mother was raised by Benjamin Harbart. He was not her real father. I am wondering if there is a way that I can find out what her real father's name was from your church.
My mother died in 1956 from an auto accident so I never got much information on her.
I am very happy that I am able to get some info from you by ordering your book.

On my Wyandotte General Hospital 1937 birth certificate a space asks, "number of live births including this one." The number in this line is "three". I thought I was an only child (only living child) until my younger sister was born in 1939, but this certificate indicates I was not. If there were prior births - - two, in this case - - I would like to know how to find the records of them, and of their deaths. The certificate asks, "live births", so there must have been both a birth certificate and a death certificate for each child. The years would be AFTER 1932, the year of my parents' marriage. If my siblings are buried in Michiganm, I would like to know it. Thanks for your assistance. Teddy Rex Patton II

Earliest Known Ancestor Jacob Theodore Lohr
They were from Michigan
Born about 1855
Comments:
Believe his parents to be Fred and Augusta Lohr but haven't been able to prove it. Augusta and Jacob Theodore Lohr both bought land in Skagit, Wa. in the late 1880's and Jacob's wife, Marie Theresa Zibell (greatgrandma) settled in Snohomish Co., Arlington, Wa. were she died in 1970. I can't seem to find much info. on Jacob or his family. But the census of 1900 King Co. Washington, 1910 Snohomish, Oso Precint, WA., and 1920 Snohomish, Arlington town, Wa. shows Jacob's birth state as Michigan, and Parents birth place, both Germany, German. I have found Lohr landowners on your site and I believe Lohn, son of Christian is Christian Lohrs son. Christian being a brother to Jacob if the post at GenForum by Jim Lohr is accurate.

I'm in the process of research the maternal line of my family and am looking for information relating to Peter (b. 1849) and Catherine Schloff (b. 1851, New York), they are my great-great grandparents. Apparently they had a farm in Taylor in Wayne County and Peter died in a snowstorm, but I am having a difficult time finding information about them aside from the 1880 Fed Census and a probate record regarding one of their sons who died (George: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Acres/6429/estatefiles.html). If anyone has pointers or information, I would most appreciate it.

Earliest Known Ancestor Cora Babinski
They were from Poland
Comments:
I am researching the history of my father and my family in the Detroit, Michigan area in the 1930¡¦s and 40¡¦s. My father, Walter A. Babinski, worked at a Samsonite Corporation factory in Ecorse, prior to being drafted into the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1943. He served from 1944 until 1945 as a B24 bomber gunner with the 13th Airforce in the Southwest Pacific area of operations. He returned to the U.S. in April 1945 and was discharged from service in June of the same year. He died in 1992.
My goal is to write a history of my father, the men he served with in the military during World War Two, and their family lives before and after the war.
My reason for contacting you is to ask your assistance in identifying any information about the Samsonite Plant in Ecorse in the 1940¡¦s. I believe that Samsonite operated their Ecorse plant until the 1960¡¦s or 1970¡¦s, prior to moving their operations to Tennessee.
Type of material and information resources of value to my research would include:
äh The Ecorse street address location of the Samsonite plant.
äh Any local newspaper articles related to the history of the plant (when opened, types of products produced, when the plant was closed, etc.).
äh Contemporary photos, site plans, and architectural plans or renderings of the plant.
Please let me know if anyone has information available that may meet my interests, and how I might get a copy. Thank you.

Born about 1680
Comments:
I have been working on my mothers family line and
am making good progress.
The DeLaurier family lived in the Detroit River region
for quite a time. Francois DeLaurier m Marie Françoise Methe 1787 at St. Anne's.
I am also looking at Edward Hazel. He was a british
Indian Interpreter and was an early settler of Macomb
County until the british turned over the Michigan territory
to the US.
I am looking for more info on Charles (DesLaryer) DeLaurier b 1821 and Helen (Elenor) O'Donnell b1822-24.
I found the family in the 1850 Census in Monguagon Twp.
If you find any ties or are interested in what I have,
please feel free to contact me.

Earliest Known Ancestor John Henry Hadel
They were from Germany
Born about 1/13/1891
Comments:
I am trying to locate any information about the Hadel family. John Henry and Wanda Hadel immigrated from Germany in the early 1900s (we believe around 1910). He was a body guard for Kaiser Wilhelm before coming to America. He died in June of 1935 (we believe), his funeral was handled by the Gallagher Funeral Home in River Rouge, and I was told that he was buried in the Fernwood Cemetery (although the only Fernwood I can locate is in Escanaba). John and Wanda had three children, Ernest Frederick, Martin Henry and Charles Walter. Ernest is my grandfather and the only surviving son.
If you have any information on our family, your insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

They were from Grosse Ile, MI
Born about 1890
Comments:
My father was Bill Schoenherr, son of Frank and Selma (Heartline) Schoenherr, who lived on West River Road in Grosse Ile in the early 1900s. Bill was born in 1919. He had two brothers, Bob and Francis (my namesakes) and two sisters, Margaret and Dorothy. I have a complete (more or less) family history of the Schoenherrs, but I haven't memorized much of it. My Dad Bill did have an "Uncle Louie" Schoenherr, who lived on Schoenherr Road in Mount Clemens, MI, and was famous for having 14 kids.
My Mother was Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Navarre, who grew up at 4471 Monroe Street in Ecorse. Her parents were Leo and Harriet Navarre, who had seven children, Betty being the oldest. Coincidentally, I am the oldest of seven children as well. Perhaps that is why we are so alike!

Earliest Known Ancestor Emma Kadau
They were from Alpena, MI
Born about 1880
Comments:
Emma Marian Kadau was born at home, in Alpena, Mi, to Augusta (Golm) Kadau (spelled Kidean in 1880 Census) and John Kadau per 1880 Alpena Census. Both John and Augusta
migrated from Prussia.
Also born in Alpena were August, John,
Edward, Delia, and Alena (Lena). Alena was found in
the 1890 directory as a domestic working at 203 Washington.
(which I believe was a hotel). John McDonald, appears to
have been either a manager or owner of the hotel in 1900
Census.
Emma moved to Toledo, Ohio in 1904. She married William
Easton in 1906. Had one child Robert Allen Easton born in Detroit,1907,
Sadly Emma died in 1908. She was only 26 years old at the time of her death. William returned with his year old son to his family in Toledo.
Emma's sister Delia married Willis Zercher about 1919. They family is shown in the 1930 Census as living on Kibry Street Detroit, MI. (Street is now property of the university)
Delia and Willis had one son name Harry, who died in MI, in 1998. Delia and Emma's mother Augusta was also listed in
1930 Census as living with Delia and her husband. She was
77 years old. She died the following year. Delia, Harry,
Willis and Augusta are all buried at White Chapel Cemetery
in Troy, MI.

They were from London England

Comments:
Elizabeth's parents were the Lord and Lady Tilston of London England. She secretly married the games keepers son Amos Wisdom and was disowned by her family with only $1. Amos and Elziabeth had their 1st son Amos in England and then moved to Michigan on the south side of Maple Grove Rd. now known as Telegraph Rd.
I am interested in finding out about her parents and the rest of her family. Down to myself. Her Daughter Ruth Wisdom married William Y. Chamberlin
