Most meetings are held when the weather is fair: May – December. More about the chapter’s activities be found here. Our Chapter Regent and Registrar will assist you with membership details as well as guide you through the application process. They have the support of several DAR committees that assist with genealogical research. Did you know? DAR Members can access a database to see if you had a family member that joined the DAR (any chapter, any state) in the past. This would include your Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt, Great Aunt, niece, etc. See the Membership page for more information. |

Tisbury Manor Chapter DAR is just one of 3000 chapters in the United States today. It was organized in Monson, Maine on November 14, 1952. Tisbury’s first Regent, Genevieve Jackson Beckwith is one of twelve Charter Members that proved their lineage to Thomas Mayhew, “Lord of the Manor of Tisbury” hence our Chapter’s namesake. Today, our membership comprises of women from all over the country with the majority residing in Piscataquis County. Tisbury Manor Chapter members have recognized deserving community members with awards as well as received special recognitions and awards for DAR service to others. We vary our monthly meeting times and location, during the warmer months, among the area towns. Some meetings involve trips to sites across our lovely State. We remember our patriot ancestors and past members at our anniversary meeting held in November. |
