Included in this collection
are numerous useful files and information such as:
- Over 22,000 obituaries
filed alphabetically on index cards
- Three large binders
of obits of Washington county
- 1600 pages (12x16)
on both sides with an index to the 2001-2003 obits from the Bangor Daily
News, Kennebec Journal, Central Maine Sentinel, and Portland Sunday
Telegram
- Thousands of card
files on the families of Civil War veterans
- Many extensive special
collections that were donated by members
- Town histories, records
and reports from all over the state of Maine
- Many other items
such as diaries, old photo collections, yearbooks, vital records, quarterlies
and journals that have been purchased or donated to the collection
- For Franco-American,
French-Canadian and Acadian research, the library has many Quebec records,
northern Maine records and a CD containing some 250,000 Maine marriages
made freely available to members by local genealogist and chapter member,
Bob Chenard. His collection of records represents over 15 years of research.
Also, the Jette reference work of early Quebec families and the Talbot
series of 11 volumes of marriages by surname that cover Beauce, Dorchester,
and Frontenac counties of Quebec as well as other helpful books in this
category

and a Windows computer complete with a printer
- Computer CDs with
genealogical records available for research which include LDS records,
US census records, and other computerized files
- A photocopier machine
for use in the library for a small �per copy� fee
