SKOWHEGAN SOURCES AND LOOK-UPS

animated gif of book with pages turning

Lee Granville, the Curator for Skowhegan History House and volunteer at the Skowhegan Free Public Library, has volunteered to be a contact person for Skowhegan history!  The Skowhegan History House is a small museum of local history.  He has access to Louise Helen Coburn's history, Skowhegan On The Kennebec, and many other sources (see below).

If you have access to books or other references on Skowhegan and would like to volunteer to provide look-ups please e-mail me.  I do not have access to most the the sources listed below.

Note:  all copyrights on sources written before 1923 have expired; therefore, permission is not needed to submit information from those sources to be posted on this site.
For sources written after 1923, see the USGenWeb Project - Copyright Information for more information.

The following Skowhegan sources were taken from University of Maine URSUS on-line catalog

(Note:  if you would like to volunteer to do look-ups in these sources, please e-mail me.  The sources for which copyright have expired are listed in the first table, below.  These sources may be copied from freely and if you would like to volunteer to submit information from these sources, please send me a message.)

Skowhegan Census Look-ups

INSTRUCTIONS FOR REQUESTING LOOK-UPS

Put "Skowhegan Look-up" in the subject line.

On the first line of the body of the message, put the name of the source you are requesting a look-up in.  This is necessary because many times the people who volunteer to do look ups offer them in more than one source.

Limit your request to 1 or 2 specific names per request and list each name on a separate line in the body of the message.

Remember to thank the volunteer for the time and effort they spent fulfilling your request.
