Families. From the Preface, we learn that it was originally published as a series of
articles which appeared in The Ellsworth American in 1932-33. The articles, slightly
revised and supplemented, were republished in 1933.
The book was not arranged alphabetically. Page numbers below refer to the page numbers in the original book. Some families were generously represented, while others only have a page or less. The book contained no index, so it will be necessary to read through the entire article about your family to determine if your ancestor is mentioned. Each highlighted page number will take you to a scanned image of that page. You can download these JPEG images to your own computer by right-clicking on the image with your mouse, and then saving the images to a desired location in your computer. Please check the "Errata" file at the bottom of the page, because Pierce corrected a number of errors in his work, and the corrections are listed here. The Errata page contains corrections for the following families:
