Do you have an ancestor who served in the Spanish American War? If so, you might be interested in becoming a member of the Sons of Spanish American War Veterans. NOTE: There is an organization for women too.
Did your ancestor serve in the 1st Maine Artillery Battalion, US Volunteers? If so, you might want to take a look at a partial roster consisting of Companies A and B and the Hospital Battalion of the Maine Artillery Battalion, formed in 1898 and served in Cuba from 20 Jan to 9 Mar 1899. A roster of individuals from Somerset and Sagadahoc Counties for Company D was forwarded to this hostess; however, it will not be posted until I can find time to code it for uploading to the server. This information was contributed by Micah J. Jenkins Camp No. 164, Sons of Spanish American War Veterans, courtesy of Kenneth H. Robison II ([email protected]), Camp President and National Graves Registrar of the East.
This Sagadahoc County Website was designed, created, and is maintained by Arlene L. Brown Ackermann. Any comments or suggestions are welcomed and encouraged. |
