What are the purposes of an Email list?
The purpose is to communicate with others, around the world, who share a like interest. When you send an email to the list address, rootsweb software emails it to everyone on the list. Your message is archived at rootsweb too. You can search all the past emails. However it is better to post queries as well onto message boards, where they remain on the Internet. Email lists facilitate discussions.
Okay….How do I sign up?To subscribe to the list you first decide if you want to receive each piece of mail individually or would prefer a number of them in one large mail with a table of contents. To get them individually, subscribe to the "list" or L version. Otherwise subscribe to the digest.
