Misc. Notes
(Obituary from an unidentified and undated newspaper, but maybe in Gorham, ME)
After an illness of several weeks Mrs. Mary M. Corson passed away March 5 [probably 1912] at the home of her son, Walter D. Corson, Main street. Her age was 79 years, three months and she was born in Andover, her parents being the late Aaron and Mary (Merrill) Cutting. Her husband, Henry D. Corson, died in 1884 and she has since made her home with her son, Walter and family. For 12 years she was a resident of Everett, Mass., and moved to Gorham about three weeks ago, her son having taken a position in the Shackford grocery store and having moved his family here from South Portland.
The greater part of her life was spent in Bridgton and the body will be taken there for burial, the funeral to be held from the Bridgton Methodist Church of which she was a member.
Mrs. Corson was a woman of strong, sweet, Christian character and her memory will be affectionately cherished by a large family connection and many friends. She is survived by three sons, Cassius of Chicago, Harry of Bridgton and Walter of Gorham; three daughters, Mrs. Granville Burnell of Bridgton, Mrs. Emma Welch of Long Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Mattie Sherrick of Fitzwilliam, N. H., - thirteen grandchildren and two brothers, Charles Cutting of Dover, N. H., and Ernest Cutting of Paris.
