   Mr. George P. Thomas, a prominent citizen of this town, passed away on the afternoon of Nov. 11 [1924] at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Roger Thurston, after an illness of a few months. Mr. Thomas was born in Byron in 1853, the son of Merrill and Sarah Stockbridge Thomas. He was one of a family of eight children. Coming to Andover when he was a young man, he began work around the Lakes as a guide at the age of 16 years.
   Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Helen Dunn, widow of Bert Dunn, and Mrs. Roger [Lillie] Thurston, and eight grandchildren, also one brother, Frank P. Thomas of Andover.

   Mrs. Anne Thomas, wife of George Thomas, passed away Saturday morning, Sept. 22 [1917] at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Roger Thurston. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, Rev. Mr. Laite of Rumford Center officiating.
   Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Mrs. Bert Dunn and Mrs. Roger Thurston, and six grandchildren to mourn her loss.
