There is a lease agreement in the Kennebec Registry of Deeds dated 10 Dec 1807 whereby Joseph Davis of Fayette leases to “Hannah Redden during her life and after her decease unto her daughter Deborah Redden during the time she remains a single woman” the use of a lot of land and the wood thereon for their lifetimes.
