Civil War service: Albert enlisted May 3, 1861 in Co K 7th Maine Infantry, and served about three years. He had been promoted to corporal. Later when the war effort desperately needed additional men, and enlistment bonuses were high, he reenlisted on November 28, 1846, and served in Co. E. 1st. ME. Sharpshooters. He died at in the hospital at City Point, Virginia, of typhoid on January 19, 1865.
