Wing, Stephen. Private, Capt. Benjamin Berry's (Harwich) co., Maj.
Zenas Winslow's regt.; service, 6 days, on an alarm at Bedford and
Falmouth Sept. 7, 1778.[CI:354:?4:CI]
Stephen Wing, private, muster and pay roll of Capt. Benjamin Berry's
company, Major Zenos Winslow's regiment, company belonged to Harwich;
6 days service at alarm at Bedford and Falmouth. Also was in service
in January, February and March, 1779[CI:3378:?4:CI].
Resided abt. 1800 Livermore, Oxford Co., ME.
The migration of Simeon Wing and his sons from the Pocasset
neighborhood about the year 1784, undoubtedly influenced other of
their former neighbors at Pocasset to follow them. Soon after the
Revolution, a race of Wings appeared at Livermore, Wayne, and nearby
towns in Maine. These Wings were of large frame, very strong, very
tall, many of them living to a great age. There were at least four
brothers, Reuben, Shubael, Joseph and Stephen, and two sisters --
Mehitable and Mercy. One of their descendants write that the family
first moved to Colebrook, N.H., and from that place to Wayne about the
year 1798-1800. It is a tradition in this family that the father of
Shubael, Reuben, Joseph and Stephen married a second wife late in life
and that this marriage caused an estrangement in the family between
the father and sons.[CI:266:?4:CI]

Good Morning Kathrine,
This morning, I received the transcript below from one fellow Wing family researchers (Barbra Pahlow,
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~pahlow/) and thought it might be of help to you. Based on the names of his wife and children, I am changing my database to show the father of the Joseph Wing (who married Sarah Brown) to Reuben. Later research may prove me wrong but, so far, this will is the best evidence I have seen as to his identity. It is pretty close to what you have on your web site but adds the names of more children and of Reuben's second wife Sally (Robinson).
Best wishes,
Tom
