Emigrated on the “Anne & Elizabeth” in 1635 with destination of Barbados and St. Christopher (St. Kitts). Came to Strawbery Bank in 1636 and was in Hampton by 1639.

In 1677, he, with 49 others, petitioned King Charles II for a continuance of the Massachusetts jurisdiction. The petition was denied, and Hampton became part of the newly created Royal Province of New Hampshire, subject directly to the King or his representatives.
