Son of Samuel and Rebecca Shaw.He fought in the French/Indian Wars and was in the Revolutionary War. He was a Deacon in the Congregational Church at Easton. He had a farm with lots of forestry acreage. Large quantities of his forest were used for ship building. When he was 21 years of age, he helped during the French/Indian Wars, to capture Ft. Frontenac which had surrendered to the British.
