He removed to Bridgton, Cumberland, Maine about 1785-6. In 1787 he bought a lot in Bridgton, Cumberland, Maine, USA, and built a rope-walk some 300 feet in length. As an old man, Asa moved to Bethel, Oxford, Maine, USA, where he lived in the family of his grandson, Moses Stone Kimball.

He is buried in the cemetery on the place (Bethel, Oxford, Maine, USA).
