Born in Amesbury; removed to Sandown, NH, by 1735. One of the grantees of Deer Isle, ME. Both John and Charles served in the Revolutionary War in the famous “Rogers Rangers.” Deer Isle, Maine, was first settled about 1762, and in 1766 John Pressey deeded his land in Sandown, NH, to his son Charles, whose descendants still own the homestead and have for nearly two hundred years. He removed to Deer Isle, ME, with three other sons and two daughters. Seven children.
