Eldwin J. Morton died Sunday, March 20 1983, at the Rumford Community Hospital where he had been a patient for a day. He resided on Newton Street in Andover, living in the area all of his life.
He was born in Andover, May 9, 1902, the son of Joseph and Edna Ricker Morton. He attended Andover schools and was a member of Cabot Lodge, K. of P., and the National Rifle Association. Mr. Morton had worked all his life as a woodsman, and had been employed by Raymond Akers at the Maine Hardwood Co., Andover, until retiring in 1970. He was married in Rumford Center, Oct. 9, 1928, to the former Dora Hutchins who survives of Andover.
Also surviving are six sons, Otis, Owen and Hanson, all of Andover, George of Rumford Center, Hugh of Rumford, and Wayne of East Andover; a daughter, Mrs. Bryant (Priscilla) Hodgkins of Frye; a sister; Mrs. Lucy Arnold of Andover; 34 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
