Jason was in Ludlow, Mass., Hoosick, Paris, Vernon, and Sullivan Twp., New York. He served in Capt. John Carpenter's company with service from May 6, 1780 to Feb. 6, 1781 stationed at Springfield, Mass.
"Names and Sketches of the Pioneer Settlers of Madison County NY" byWilliam H. Tuttle 1984 p.71: Lived on shore of Oneida Lake as an early settler of Bridgeport. He was a Rev. War Vet in Mass. Line and pensionfor service in 1832 (1835?) Buried in Old Bridgeport Cemetery. "Record of Service of Connecticut Men: published 1889 in Hartford under the Adjutant Gereral's Office. It says that following the attack on Lexington and Concord, the CT legislature called for militia to be formed in April and May of 1775 .
"GenealogicalAbstracts of Revolutionary War Pension Files Vol. 1, A-E" by Virgil D. White,1990.pg. 868: Jason's widow's pension #W3957 (surname also spelled Dammon) wife name Lucy Owen or Owens. He served with the Mass. Continental Line. At time of enlistment he was with his father at Ludlow, Mass. Applied for pension on 18 June 1833 at Sullivan, NY. Widow Lucy applied for pension on 22 Feb. 1839 at Madison City, NY at age 64 while a resident of Sullivan, NY. By 1839 she was in Prarrieville in Milwaukee Co., Wisconsin at age 70years , 9 mo., 22 days but no date for 1845 was given. She mentions they had children but no names.
"The Abstract of Graves of Revolutionary Patriots" Vol. 1, lists Jason's grave in Old Cementery at Bridgeport at Cicero, Onondaga, NY.Jason served as a private in the Mass. militia guard unit at Springfield established by Maj. General Gates with Captain John Carpenter in command there from 23 March 1779 to 31 March 1783.
