On 7 Jul 1676 the court ordered that John Doten, as his share of the estate of Jacob Cooke, was to have either land or money. The will of John Doty Sr. of Plymouth, dated 15 Apr 1701, proved 3 June 1701, names eldest son John Dotey; wife Sarah; four youngest sons Isaac, Samuel, Elisha and Josiah Doty; dau. Elizabeth Moss; four youngest daus. Martha, Sarah, Patience, Desire; wife Sarah executor; loving brother John Rickard. On 3 June 1701 Samuel Doty chose his uncle Jacob Cooke as guardian; Elisha Doty chose his brother John Doty Jr. as guardian; Sergeant John Rickard was appointed guardian of Josiah Doty; and William Wing was appointed guardian of Martha Doty .
