Came from Hartford [ME] prior to 1850, and settled in Franklin Plantation. Part of this area was set off to Sumner and to Peru. He lived in the area that was annexed to Peru in 1885. Was pastor of the Second Advent Church of Franklin Plantation, which was erected in 1883, and was founded in 1872 by the Rev. Lewis Putnam, who supplied this church in the absence of Rev. Abbott.
